May Update from WLL

Hello Woodstown Little League Families.  We would like to thank those of you who have responded to our coaches and league by providing us with your feedback regarding your interest in playing this summer should we be permitted to operate.  Having the input of our membership and volunteers is vital in our decision making process as we begin to evaluate the re-opening of league activities.   We are excited and hopeful about the response that we have received from everyone so far.    With that, we also understand and respect the concern and trepidation many families have expressed in moving forward with opening.   These are difficult and unprecedented times and decisions that all organizations including WLL are now being faced with, in having to make decisions regarding reopening and adapting programming to meet new guidelines.   The health and safety of all of our stakeholders is of the utmost importance to us and is at the forefront of all of our decisions.   As we progress closer to a season opening, the board continues to meet regularly to evaluate current conditions and regulations as they are released.  Prior to any league activities beginning, WLL will have clearance from our local officials, as well as have the necessary items and procedures in place to safely operate.  Little League International recently released their guidelines for how to safely operate and play while practicing social distancing, as well as sanitation and monitoring guidelines for local leagues.   WLL will adhere to the guidelines provided from the State and local levels as well as any guidelines from LL.  You can visit their sites to review their guidelines as well as additional information regarding Little League.

While we wait for clearance,  the board has contacted and met with all coaches this season and we are excited to have the players' uniforms begin to be handed out.  We hope that our little leaguers are excited to receive them and we encourage them to wear their jerseys and hats now.   We would love to see some of our little leaguers in their uniforms on our Facebook page.  This would be a great way to not only get kids excited about baseball again but it would also be a terrific way to say thank you to our sponsors.

We would like to encourage anyone who has not yet responded to either the coaches or the league regarding their interest in this summer to please respond no later than May 31st so that we can make arrangements.    Any decisions on the season including the number of teams, games and practice schedule can not be made until we have feedback from you, our members.   We recognize that this next season if we should have one either this summer or fall will be markedly different from what we are used to.  The competition level will be different.  The way in which we watch the game will be different.  The way in which we begin and end our games will be different.  The goal for us as a league at this point is to get kids and families playing and enjoying the game of baseball again.    If you are requesting a partial refund for this season because you are opting not to play please visit the Woodstown Little League website for the refund policy and process.  We would like to thank the families that were able to opt for their registration fees to be donated to the league this season.   As WLL is a  non-profit organization, any and all donations will be directly put back into the league which ultimately benefits our players.

We thank you for your continued support and patience during this time and we look forward to seeing everyone on the ball field again hopefully soon!!

Kind Regards,
Melissa Iocona
WLL President
